Projects financed by international agencies are subject to evaluation (mid-term or at the end of the project review) and they are audited. Financial and accounting audits are means to verify that the funds have been properly managed according to the standards established in the Credit Agreement and that disbursements are consistent with the project goals. Auditing covers also organizational, legal and statutory aspects. It is a specific part of a comprehensive evaluation of the project’s performance.
The project officers prepare the required documents and collaborate with the auditors. Efficient preparation avoids a long and tedious search for various documents and simplifies the work for both auditors and project officers.
