OMVG: Technical, Financial and Environmental Project Management
Description of Services Provided
A capacity-building programme in project management was implemented for staff from the Project Management Unit (PMU), the National Monitoring Committees (NMCs) and the High Commission of the Gambia River Basin Development Organisation (OMVG).
Two training courses were delivered:
- Technical and Financial Project Management, attended by 23 participants divided into two groups;
- Environmental Management of Projects and Programmes, delivered to a group of 5 participants.
The programme aimed to address human resource-related challenges and constraints that the entities and stakeholders involved in the OMVG interconnection project might face, with a view to facilitating the timely and successful implementation of the project and ensuring the long-term sustainable operation of all interconnection infrastructure.
Specific Objectives
- Master the processes and steps required to establish and operate a results-based monitoring and evaluation system.
- Understand the techniques and tools needed to effectively plan, monitor and evaluate project performance in terms of short-, medium- and long-term results.
- Apply best practices in data collection and performance reporting.
