Training on the Environmental and Social Aspects of the Project for the Technical Committee and Staff of AGEROUTE
Description of Services Provided
6-day training in Saly, Senegal, on the environmental and social aspects of a project.The seminar covered, among other topics, the various World Bank Environmental and Social (E&S) standards, resettlement processes and livelihood restoration, as well as methods for managing safety on construction sites.
Specific Objectives
• Understand the environmental and social challenges related to roadworks.
• Identify and manage environmental and social risks associated with road construction.
• Prepare and oversee project activities in compliance with the applicable World Bank environmental and social safeguard policies, as well as Senegalese legislation.
• dentify stakeholders involved in environmental and social management of roadworks, along with their roles and responsibilities.
• Understand hygiene, health, and safety measures, as well as disease prevention in roadwork projects.
• Operationalise the project’s Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM), including complaints related to Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA), and Sexual Harassment (SH).
• Identify relevant gender and social inclusion indicators in the context of roadworks.
