Procurement: Works, Goods, and Consultancy Services
Description of Services Provided
A 10-day training on procurement, works, goods, and consultancy services, organised in Dubai from 10 to 21 June 2024, for 17 agents and executives from SNEL of Kinshasa. This training is part of the skills update for accredited Procurement Management Specialists (MSPM), who obtained their accreditation in 2018.
Specific Objectives
• Develop a detailed understanding of procurement according to the World Bank’s guidelines and other funding agencies.
• Master the procurement framework adopted by the World Bank and raise awareness of new directions.
• Understand the activities, procedures, standards, and principles underlying the procurement of goods, works, and consultant selection.
• Define and plan all activities within the tendering process and request for proposals.
Participant Feedback on the Mission
• We appreciated the trainers’ availability and their willingness to train us. Moreover, this training was of great importance to our work, especially for projects financed by the World Bank.
• Overall, I enjoyed the programme, the delivery of the training, and the subjects covered, which align with my work. However, in order to integrate other aspects of procurement, particularly those related to project audits, there is a need for a training session on this topic. I believe this refresher session was helpful after five (5) years since the first one held in Dakar.
• As part of this training, I appreciated the depth of the modules combined with practical exercises. Additionally, I liked the digitisation and/or recording of SETYM’s presentations, all courses, practical exercises, and solutions on the Moodle platform, which eliminated the need for paper versions.
