The Project Management Cycle for CIFOR
Description of actual services provided
Four training sessions on the project management cycle were delivered, targeting approximately fifty (50) professionals from various organisations within the COMIFAC region. These included universities, research institutions, civil society organisations, and government bodies involved in sustainable forest management in Central Africa. The training was organised at the request of the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR/ICRAF).
Specific objectives
- Acquire an in-depth knowledge of the process for preparing a project or a phase of a project/program in the multilateral aid system.
- Develop the skills to orchestrate preparatory studies required by the government or technical and financial partners.
- Understand the principles and processes of results-based management (RBM).
- Appropriate the strategies and techniques for negotiating funding agreements with donors.
- Successfully design and implement projects and accelerate disbursements.
